project story

I got a bunch of girl scout patches on ebay. One pack was from 91-92 and the other from 81-83 (it smelled like mildew). I sewed them on a black sweater. The end.

which 90s subculture are you?

I took a bunch of quizzes. Too many conflicting results. I got grunge, punk, s8er, riot grrl, hip hop. Also took a "are you a freak or a geek" quiz. I got "freak".

proud scholars

School sucks! But vintage school sweaters sure don't! I found a vintage Hotchkiss sweater that I look forward to wearing over my studded collared shirt when it gets cold...

I love varsity jackets, I ordered a leopard print one from Tucker that I will hopefully be getting in fall and I am so so excited! I want to stencil a witty saying on the back too....

irreg. program

I feel like fashion blogging sorta lags during august, everyone just wants it to be fashion week and/or looks forward to what their wearing in fall. SO its art time! EXCITEMENT! Because art is always happening! These are some of my favorite artists:
1 is by Shepard Fairey (who does the "OBEY" propaganda type graffiti all over the city)
2 and 10 are by Ed Templeton
3, 4, 5, 8, 9 are by Steve Powers or "ESPO" which is his tag
6 and 7 are by Chris Johanson
11 and 12 are by Barry Mcgee (who's graffiti name is "Twist")
13 and 14 are by Nolan Hendrickson

The first five all grew up being punks/skateboarders/graffiti artists in the 90's and moved to new york and became artists, Nolan Hendrickson lives in nyc and recently had a show at Ramiken Crucible.
